The new album from Kimber Sparks is such a delight! Great songs, great
vocals, hot band and hot production. Most country singers in the world would
kill to duet with The Voice - Vern Gosden but Kimber is the only one to have
achieved this in recent years.Another great duet with her producer Bill
Chambers. It is refreshing to hear a country album that actually sounds country.

SLINGA'S CD REVIEW: KIMBER SPARKS-It's Her Turn. NFS Publicity sent me a promo copy of Kimber Sparkes new album "It's Her Turn" & is this a real gem. 10 of 11 songs on the CD were written or co-written by Kimber & 5 with country music's mister cool "Bill Chambers". Some of country's best musicians have joined to create a great radio friendly CD you will want to grab. *Slinga*
Country Pickin's----- Burt Everett
It's not often that you find a fast rising new star on the country music scene, who is studying to achieve her MBA. At Gold Coast university, but such is the case with Alabama born Kimber Sparks. The lady made rather large ripples in 2005 with the release of her four track CD, "Go Get 'em Girl", but on hearing a preview of her first full CD, "It's Her Turn", one can only assume that the ripples will turn to wave, when the album hits the market. Unlike so many new "Country" releases, ( which seem to be hell bent on getting as close to "crossovers" as they can, without actually stepping over the line), this one is unmistakably country, modern country perhaps, but definitely country.
I must admit than on first hearing the album, I thought, "Hello, -- another Aussie singing with an American accent, (and at the same time grudgingly conceding that she was doing a dam good job of it), However, on finding that she was born and bred in Alabama, I quickly climbed down from my high horse to settle back and enjoy, and enjoy I did! Eleven top tracks on this one, all of them new to me, ranging from slow love ballads to raunchy up tempo tracks, and featuring a duet with fellow American Vern Gosdin, who co-wrote the track, "Chiseled In Stone", ( a song that was the 1989 CMA Song Of The Year in the United States), and made the trip to Australia especially to record the track with Kimber.. .
The album, fully recorded here in the land of Oz, was produced by Bill Chambers, (leader of the family group Dead Ringer Band, that took the country by storm some years ago, and also spawned the outstanding career of daughter Kasey Chambers). He also teams up with Kimber on 'A Million Yesterdays'. Although I realize that there's not much chance of him reading this, I might add, "Congratulations mate, you've got it spot on with this one".
